“Faze 2 was established 10 years ago in Kampala and Faze 3 it’s younger sister in Entebbe opened its doors eight months ago. Faze 3 was born out of a well know economic principle of demand and supply. The population of Entebbe is growing and there are more flights and airlines flying to the International Airport. The proprietors identified that there was a market for a reasonably priced restaurant serving home style food – hence the birth of Faze 3.
Faze 3 in Entebbe is an open, spacious, comfortable restaurant located in Entebbe, 3 minutes from the Entebbe International Airport. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside with breathtaking views of Lake Victoria for as far as the eye (no pun intended) can see. The cool breeze that blows off the lake is refreshing and welcome; Entebbe can be really hot in the dry season. The food is down to earth, tasty and wholesome and the portion sizes generous. The meals cater to meat eaters and vegetarians and there is plenty of choice for both, although more on the meat side.
Faze 3 is fully licensed and has a well stocked bar that serves just about anything from sodas, spirits, liqueurs, beers, wines and coffees to their fresh and extremely delicious Fruit shakes and fruit juices. The fruit shake (7,000/=) is a combination of banana, mango and pineapple and comes served in a tall glass. Fruit juices like mango, pineapple, fruit cocktail and orange can also be ordered.
Starters can be eaten as a starter or as a main meal depending on how hungry you are and the prices vary from 2,000-8,000/= Ugx. Pork sticks (3 sticks) are 2,000/= while the cheesy garlic bread is 8,000; vegetable samoosas (3, cocktail size) will cost you 4,000. As a vegetarian it was recommended that I try the Baigan Bharta (eggplant) dish which was served with pita bread (not on the menu) which turned out to be delicious and full of flavor – it was a meal on its own!
There is a huge variety of food to choose from (Continental and Tandoori cuisines) when it comes to the main meal and some of these include beef, chicken, fish, pork and goat. Meals like Chicken Karai (16,000) with egg fried rice (8,000), Traditional fish and chips (18,000), Pork spare ribs (16,000), Chicken tika pita with chips (12,000) to the Halloumi vegetable salad (14,000) can be ordered. Once again, the portions are generous. Other items on the menu like the garlic naan (4,000) and chilli cheese naan can be ordered as accompaniments to the main meal. If you are looking for something a little “ lighter” then try one of the Pita options from their Light & Tasty Pita Pockets menu, like the Roast beef salad pita (12,000) or the Greek salad pita (12,000) or their delicious Lamb Shish pita (12,000). Main meal orders can take up to 45 minutes to arrive as everything at Faze 3 is freshly prepared from the start. if you have room for desserts after your meal then try the Nestle ice-cream (8,000 for 3 scoops), Tropical fruit salad (7,000) or Cake of the day (8,000 with a scoop of ice-cream), you won’t be disappointed.
Faze 3 is the perfect place to stopover for either lunch or dinner whether you are travelling or you are wanting to kill some time before picking somebody up from the airport. Faze 3 in Entebbe is only an hour’s drive from Kampala so it is close enough to drive to for a leisurely afternoon lunch. It is easy to find, centrally located and a hop, skip and a jump to the airport. The waiters and waitresses are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about what’s on the menu and what can and can’t be done!
