Dear Reader,
A warm welcome to Uganda!
The Eye Magazine is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this
issue.
The first issue was a modest 44 pages in black and white
published in February 2000. And what a long way we
have come from our humble beginnings. Printing just
2,000 copies initially, The Eye has grown and this month
we celebrate by increasing our print run to a record 14,000
copies! Not only do we now have a website (www.theeye.
co.ug) but we have also spread our wings to Rwanda
(www.theeye.co.rw) and Malawi (www.theeye.co.mw)
with more countries hopefully coming soon.
In this issue our main article is on Bats- are these
creatures friend or foe? Simba Safari Camp features as our
accommodation review while our entertainment review
lets us all know which judged pizza’s are best. If you want
to be healthy then get moving – our alternative health
review takes a look at Movement Therapy and our health
review tells us all about how we can improve the look and
feel of our teeth through computerised dentistry. For all
the sailing enthusiasts out there and those interested in
the sport, our sports and outdoors review looks at the
Victoria Nyanza Sailing Club and our wildlife review reports
back on the 2009 Rhino Fund Raft Race that took place
in Jinja.
Of course we would not be where we are today without
our advertisers continued support, our contributors for
articles and the support from our readers who keep us
updated.
Cheers, everyone and here’s to many Birthday’s for The
Eye magazine to come.
